Guillermo Giraldo Fernández
Mechatronics Engineer

Mechatronics Engineer, with professional emphasys on desing and simulation. Various studies in structural engineering, Finite Elements simulation (FEA) and Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Working as independet consultor, created the company Senid SAS with the aim of putting at the service of local and international industry his experience and competences in the flied of computer simulation, analysis and design. Through this period, he has been involved in many projects, in diverse areas such as: process safety, fire protection, structural reliability, industrial equipment, piping systems and product development. He has also ventured into software development of custom tools for the support of engineering process at the industry. In other activities, he has participated in research projects from the academy for industry; consulted for master thesis; and more recently, guest blogger for SimScale.

Expsertise fields: structural design and analysis, machinery and systems design, process equipment and piping, computer structural simulation, computer fluid simulation, dynamics and movement, numerical simulation.

Jairo Useche Vivero
Mechanical Engineer, MSc, PhD

Mechanical engineer, with master studies in mechanical engineering in the area of solid mechanics from Univeridad de los Andes. Possess doctorate studies in mechanical engineering in the area of structural computational mechanics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, São Paulo – Brasil. Currently is associated professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar - Cartagena, Colombia.

Hi is a consulting engineer for the industry in the field of damage analysis and advanced structural integrity assessment through numerical simulation. He has specialized in API 579/ASME Fitness For Service and has been involved in related projects with numerical simulation for structural mechanics, composite materials, structural vibrations and pipelines structural reliability assessment.

Expertise fields: advanced structural mechanics, structural reliability, damage and residual resistance, impact and dynamic loading, pipeline structural mechanics, composite materials mechanics, fatigue, crack propagation and residual life, computational mechanichs and numerical simulation.

Jorge Alberto Martínez
Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical engineer, with emphasys in design, construction and maintenance of mechanical equipment. Experience in equipment selection and storage tanks design, piping systems and pressure vessels in liqued storage terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants and power generation plants.

Currently works as design engineer for hydro and thermo electric power generation for different locations across Latinamerica, selecting, dimmensioning and making cost estimates for the construction of the many systems that compose such plants. Past experience includes colaboration in research projects, finite elements analysis, root case analysis, cost estimation for construction projects and bidding processes.

Expertise fields: Industrial and process equipment design, finite elements analysis, root case analysis, cost estimation, code compliance for API/ASME.
